YOMT Youth Testimonies
I always feel like there is something missing in my life when I don't go to youth group every Sunday. There's just something about being with everyone that makes my week complete. With everything that goes on at school and at home, it's nice to have a place to come where I know I will be accepted, and have a chance to accept others as well. When I'm with the youth group, I am simply a nicer better person throughout my week. ~ Maren Helfrich
Over the years the importance of the youth group in my life has changed a lot. When I entered into the youth group in middle school it was just a place to hang out with some friends and have some laughs together. I enjoyed doing the activities with the church and had fun whenever I went. During the summer of 9th grade, I went to Passport with the youth group for the first time. This is when my relationship with my youth group changed. I made true friends that week and for the first time I felt truly accepted by the youth group. As I have gone through high school the youth group has been where my core group of friends have been. The youth group is the place where I feel I can be myself and that people will always like and accept me. This feeling of acceptance has helped my faith to grow in many ways. I am much closer to god because of the many trips I have been on with the youth group and just because the youth group has made me love church. Church has always been a part of my life and thanks to my youth group I can say I truly love coming and look forward to doing things with the church and the youth group whenever I can. As my life has changed throughout high school my youth group has always been there to help me through. I can depend and count on the youth group to help me whenever I need it. I love my youth group and am very thankful to have those people in my life. ~ Ashley-Nicole Carmichael
